Unlock runs on your Mac, and your files, messages, mail, photos and other content stay on your Mac. We do not sell personal data, show ads, or build profiles. Inventagon LLC (New Jersey, USA) is responsible for the limited data described below.
Your files, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Reminders and Photos are read on your Mac. Unlock's memory (your rules and preferences) is stored on your Mac, encrypted, with the key in your macOS Keychain. Unlock keeps a local audit log of actions. We do not store this content on our servers.
When you ask Grok Bot to do something on your Mac, the request and the result travel between Grok Bot and your Mac through an encrypted connection that passes through our connection relay and a Cloudflare tunnel. The relay forwards this traffic and does not store it. What Grok Bot does with that information is governed by Grok Bot's own terms and privacy policy.
Account and billing: your email and payment details are handled by Stripe; we receive your email, subscription status and payment records, not your full card number. License and devices: your license key, a device identifier and computer name for each Mac (to enforce the 3-Mac limit), and your Mac's current connection address. Diagnostics: if Unlock has a problem it may send a short report with the Unlock and macOS version, the error, and recent log lines with personal details removed as far as possible. Support: emails you send us.
To provide and update Unlock, process payments and refunds, enforce the license, fix problems, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Where GDPR applies, our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a secure service, and legal obligations.
We use Stripe (payments), Vercel (website, relay and license service), Cloudflare (tunnel) and a hosted database for license and device records. They process data on our behalf. Data may be processed in the United States.
Connection addresses expire within about 7 days. Device records are kept while your subscription is active. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. Diagnostic reports are deleted after 30 days.
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing info@inventagon.com. If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) you also have rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA) you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can export or erase Unlock's on-Mac memory yourself at any time.
We use encryption in transit, per-Mac secret keys, and minimal data collection. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Unlock is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
